The legacy STORY
Over the last 45 years the Lorraine Spada School of Dance and Debi's Dance Studio have been the longest-running sources of quality dance education in Wilmington, MA. With a combined 90 years of history in the local area, these studios have helped create a safe space for students to grow, learn, and create life-long friendships with a shared love for dance and movement.
As of summer 2020 we announced the fusion of these two historical studios leading to the official re-branded name of Legacy Studios School of Dance. Our new name is a tribute to our roots and the incredible legacy these schools have built over the last decade.
Our new united faculty is thrilled for the new opportunities that lie ahead for our students. With this exciting change comes opportunities for our students to learn from additional faculty, participate in new performance events, and expand their beloved dance families.

Founder of Lorraine Spada School of Dance
After Dancing twelve years at the Winnifred Ashenden School of Dance, Ms. Spada received a BFA degree in Dance from the Boston Conservatory, and an EdM degree from Boston University. She is a certified dance notator in Sutton Dance Writing and a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston ASME. Lorraine taught five years at The Boston Conservatory and notated “A Collection of Classical Ballet Variations” and “A Selection of Isadora Duncan Dances”. Miss Lorraine is honored to have had so many wonderful students and families at the studio for over 40 years.

Founder of Debi's Dance Studio
Debi Hanley Bennett served as director or Debi's Dance Studio for 40 years. Over the course of her long, successful leadership, she has instructed hundreds of students and produced the spectacular Dancensation year after year. Many of Debi's students have gone on to pursue dance professionally, gracing the Broadway stage, as Patriots Cheerleaders, professional dancers, and studio owners. She looks forward to seeing the studio continue to flourish and grow, and that dance will continue to be a positive factor in the lives of the amazing students who walk through our doors.
